Cong Do Island covers an area of 23.36 square kilometers. The island features with a 172-meter hill which is covered by an ever-green tropical forest. Notably, the coral reef ecosystem here is extremely outstanding with more than 700 meters in length and 300 meters in width and there are many rare species of coral, for example, red coral. Especially, a wide coral reef on the southwestern of Cong Do Island displays a myriad of colors.
With the erosion by seawater, natural lakes were formed with an unique beauty. There are five large lakes around the island, which are compared to the jades of the sea. These lakes are home for various sea species such as shrimp, crab, fish, squid and marine plants… The largest lake is Cong Do lake, located on the mountains, you must join in an adventure journey going over the rocky cliffs and forest to reach there. This lake is about 5 hectares wide, never affected by human hands before. It is also an area of many large beaches, Tra Gioi, Cay Bang and Cat Oan, with smooth, white sand and clear, blue water.
