Lan Ha Bay sits to the East of Cat Ba Island and adjacent to Halong Bay. With over 7,000ha, of which 5,400ha is the management area of Cat Ba National Park. This is a very gulf-shaped bay about 400 large islands creating a huge picture depicting the scene. Especially, all islands and islets in Lan Ha Bay are covered in lush green vegetation.
In comparison to Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay is least known, however, it is considered as one of the most beautiful bays in Vietnam. The best time to go to Lan Ha Bay is summer, the weather is always sunny, suitable for both bathing and boating on the bay. If you want to combine to travel Cat Ba can also go in the autumn of the North, but sometimes there are still storms and weather is not very sunny for the beach. Lan Ha Bay has 139 small golden and deserted sands alluring tourists to explore. The most famous attractions in Lan Ha Bay are Luon Cave, Van Gia Floating Fishing Village, Nam Cat Island, Monkey Island, Van Boi Beach, Rua Island, etc.
Visiting Lan Ha Bay, you will have a wonderful opportunity to engage in a variety of activities. Many beautiful beaches in the Bay stretching between majestic mountains are absolutely ideal for swimming. Lan Ha mini-beaches such as Van Boi Beach, Van Ha Beach, and other beaches in Sen Island, Cu Island, and Monkey Island are making its name on Halong’s attraction map. A few even offers opportunities for scuba-diving or snorkeling to admire colorful coral reefs.
